ADFIAP, represented by its Secretary-General, Octavio B. Peralta, joined the preparation meeting on the launch of the “Guidebook for National Development Banks (NDBs) on Climate Risks” organized virtually on May 11, 2021, by the Washington, D.C.-based Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
The IDB has invited the World Federation of Development Financing Institutions (WFDFI) to be part of the launch event which will be held on June 16, 2021. The WFDFI https://wfdfi.org/ consists of the regional associations of development financing institutions in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. ADFIAP is a founding member of the WFDFI.
The guidebook provides NDBs with a roadmap for the integration of climate-related risks and opportunities in alignment with the recommendations of the Financial Stability Board’s Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). It also gives insights on NDB’d relative degree of understanding and maturity on the topic and examples of relevant experience developed by several NDBs in the Latin American and the Caribbean (LAC) region.
IDB https://www.iadb.org/en is the largest source of development financing for Latin America and the Caribbean.
