{"id":4534,"date":"2010-04-11T19:01:20","date_gmt":"2010-04-11T17:01:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wfdfi.adfi-ci.org\/?p=4534"},"modified":"2010-04-11T19:01:20","modified_gmt":"2010-04-11T17:01:20","slug":"adfiap-drafts-strategic-plan-for-the-world-federation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wfdfi.org\/en\/adfiap-drafts-strategic-plan-for-the-world-federation\/","title":{"rendered":"ADFIAP drafts strategic plan for the World Federation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of ADFIAP\u2019s role as current Secretariat of the World Federation of Development Finance Institutions (WFDFI), ADFIAP has drafted a 3-year strategic plan that will guide the WFDFI in its quest to be a relevant and sustainable organization going forward.<\/p>\n<p>The plan, with the theme, \u201cWFDFI: Dynamic and Visible\u201d, articulates that for the WFDFI to be relevant and credible, it has to focus its mission and vision on being a knowledge and advocacy focal point of institutions providing and promoting sustainable development finance. It also sets goals to adapt continuously to changes in development banking, expand services and advance the interest of its members while, at the same time, be tangibly present, available and recognizable for its work and advocacy. The four key elements essential for the plan to work is acronymed \u201cSPUR\u201d for Sustaining membership, Promoting advocacy, Unleashing knowledge and Refreshing alliances and relationships worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>The WFDFI has presently four (4) regional association members, namely, ADFIAP, the Association of African DFIs (AADFI) based in Abidjan, Cote d\u2019Ivoire, the Association of National DFIs in Member Countries of the Islamic Development Bank (ADFIMI) based in Istanbul, Turkey and the Lima-Peru-based Latin American Association of DFIs (ALIDE). Altogether, the WFDFI has 320 member-institutions in 106 countries and territories around the world. Based on the \u201crotating\u201d Secretariat scheme, ADFIAP will be the WFDFI Secretariat from 2010 to 2012.<\/p>\n<p>The WFDFI was founded in Zurich on June 13, 1979 at a UNIDO development bank conference by AADFI, ADFIAP and ALIDE, with KfW of Germany as one of the founding Council Members. The WFDFI was formed to serve as a forum for the regional DFI associations to exchange experiences and best practices and to serve as a focal point for DFIs around the world.
