The program will hold virtually on April 27 and 28, 2021, from 08:00 to 10:30 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-very-dark-black-color has-text-color\">The technical session is one of the recommendations of the AADFI General Assembly, aimed at strengthening the implementation of the Prudential Standards, Guidelines, and Rating System (PSGRS) in African DFIs, enhancing the PSGRS self-assessment process, and safeguarding the credibility of the outcome of the peer review and rating exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The program will focus on<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>presenting the context, objectives, and techniques established by the reform of the PSGRS implementation process;<\/li><li>appreciating the guidelines for the implementation of the self-assessment exercise;<\/li><li>coaching participants on the understanding and use of the tools provided by the PSGRS;<\/li><li>responding to the concerns raised by institutions on the 2020 PSGRS self-assessment results; and<\/li><li>receiving suggestions to further improve the implementation of the PSGRS and\/or the self-assessment process and enhance the recognition and acceptance of the PSGRS.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-very-dark-black-color has-text-color\">The technical session will be declared open by Mr. Stefan Nalletamby, Director of the Financial Sector Development Department of the AfDB, as the co-initiator of the PSGRS project; while Mr. Thabo Thamane, Chairman of AADFI and CEO of Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) &nbsp;Botswana, will present an opening statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-very-dark-black-color has-text-color\">More than 78 officials responsible for the PSGRS implementation in over 45 African DFIs have been registered to participate in the session. The technical session will be facilitated by Mr. Paul Yuma, &nbsp;PSGRS self-assessment consultant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-very-dark-black-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><strong>About the PSGRS<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-very-dark-black-color has-text-color\">The Prudential Standards, Guidelines, and Rating System (PSGRS) was developed 10 years ago by the AADFI with the support of the AfDB, as a tool for regulating and strengthening the African Development Finance institutions (DFIs. The tool helps DFIs to assess their areas of weaknesses and strengths with the view to reinforce the strengths and address the weaknesses. The instrument has been useful in transforming African DFIs from \u201cnon-performing\u201d to \u201cperforming DFIs\u201d.
