The 2025 Annual Workshop of the Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI), held on May 26, 2025, at the Sofitel Hotel Ivoire in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, marked the Association’s 50th Anniversary. Under the theme “Joining Forces for a More Sustainable and Greener Future for African DFIs,” the event was hosted by Ivorian AADFI members—Banque Nationale d’Investissement (BNI), Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations de Côte d’Ivoire (CDC-CI), and Société de Garantie des Crédits aux PME (SGPME)—with the support of the African Development Bank (AfDB). The workshop’s objectives included reflecting on AADFI’s five-decade journey, scaling up sustainable investments, exploring innovative financing, and fostering partnerships to advance the sustainability agenda. Over 250 delegates representing DFIs, MDBs, central banks, academia, and private sector organizations from 36 countries attended.
