Increasingly, there is a felt need that the international economic order in the 1980’s will have to evolve from one that has so far been largely shaped by the exigencies of the industrialized countries into one where developing countries have a stronger voice in the directions it should take. But greater participation in the shaping of a new world requires developing countries to be increasingly responsible for and reliant on themselves.
Events

The Global Sustainable Finance Conference 2026
It will take place on 27–28 August in Karlsruhe, Germany, bringing together senior leaders from development finance institutions, commercial banks, regulators, policymakers and investors. The conference will explore strategies to mobilise capital for productive sectors, infrastructure and sustainable economic growth, while addressing the evolving challenges facing the global development finance landscape.

Strategic Governance and Board Leadership for State-Owned Enterprises
Is a 3.5-day residential executive development programme designed for board directors and senior executives of Africa's state-owned enterprises and public institutions. The programme, to be held in St Andrews, United Kingdom, from 1–4 September 2026, aims to strengthen strategic governance and leadership capabilities through an immersive learning experience.
