AADFI concludes 2026 Annual General Assembly

The Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI) concluded its 2026 Annual General Assembly in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo, bringing together leaders of development finance institutions, policymakers and development partners to discuss priorities for strengthening development finance across Africa.

Held under the theme “Augmenting Sovereign Finance in Africa: DFIs Unlocking Growth and Resilience through the New African Financial Architecture for Development (NAFAD),” the meeting addressed topics including sovereign finance, capital mobilization, project preparation and mechanisms to strengthen long-term investment across the continent.

The programme included the Board of Directors Meeting, the Annual Workshop, the 52nd Ordinary General Assembly and the Executive Committee Meeting of the AADFI Economists Forum. Participants also exchanged experiences on the role of development finance institutions in promoting economic resilience and sustainable development.

During the General Assembly, members approved the Association’s 2025 Annual Report and audited financial statements, while reaffirming AADFI’s role in promoting cooperation and knowledge sharing among development finance institutions in Africa.
