Following on from the above, the EIB’s Group Risk Management Disclosure Report (‘GRMDR’) has been prepared in line with the prudential disclosure requirements as set out in Articles 431 to 455 of Part Eight of CRR II1 , which became applicable in June 2021, and the related technical standards, guidelines and opinions of the European Banking Authority (‘EBA’), as applicable to the EIB and which are relevant and compatible with the EIB’s statutory framework and business model.
Gender equality and women’s economic empowerment – Overview 2023

Equality between women and men is a fundamental value and human right, enshrined in international law and the European Union’s treaties and legislation. It is a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world.
Widespread evidence shows that gender equality is associated with faster economic development, higher income per capita, more efficient and effective businesses, more sustainable management of natural resources, social cohesion, peacebuilding and more stable societies overall.
The Global Gateway in Latin America and the Caribbean

The EIB Group, through EIB Global, is a major partner of the European Commission, the European External Action Service and the EU Member States in delivering on the EU Global Gateway commitments. In 2022 alone, the European Investment Bank signed operations that will mobilise an estimated €30 billion or more of Global Gateway investments. The Global Gateway is the European Union’s contribution to narrowing the global investment gap.
Carbon Footprint Report 2022

The EIB Group has seen carbon emissions increase in many areas since 2021. The COVID-19 pandemic led to a significant decrease in emissions during 2020 and 2021. This effect is no longer present, as restrictions ended in 2022, resulting in a 125% increase in total gross emissions in 2022 compared with 2021, and a 36.4%4 decrease compared with the base year emissions (2018).

The EIB Climate Survey: Africa and the Middle East

The survey results came at a critical moment for Africa, following COP 27, where the central issues were finding more resources to mitigate global warming and adapting to its effects. A decisive agreement was also made on a new “loss and damage” fund for vulnerable countries severely hurt by climate disasters.
