This paper examine the impact of offering conditional cash transfer (CCT) beneficiaries the choice to receive cash transfers in bank accounts instead of cash. It investigate the effects on savings behavior and downstream outcomes such as assets and trust. It find, on average, no significant impact on overall savings or downstream outcomes.

The Impact of Credit Programs on the Post-Pandemic Reactivation of the Fabric of Production and Employment: The Case of Argentina

This work analyzes the impact of credit programs on the recovery productive structure and employment throughout the entire territory of Argentina, using key economic variables, and distinguishing between the different instruments utilized. The results suggest that the programs did indeed help to increase the number of workers employed and their real wages in beneficiary firms during the first three quarters of 2021.

The risk outlook for regional financial conditions is
generally balanced. On the upside, softening inflation in
the region has led most regional central banks to move
toward the end of their monetary tightening cycles.
A faster-than-expected decline in inflation in advanced
economies, combined with financial risk considerations,
might lead to a less hawkish monetary stance in advanced
economies. However, the inflation path remains
uncertain. Elevated price pressures together with a robust
economic performance and strong job market in the US
could support further monetary tightening.

Do Behavioral Drivers Matter for Healthcare Decision-making in Times of Crisis?: A study of Low-Income Women in El Salvador During the COVID-19 Pandemic

This study analyzes the relationship between four behavioral predictors the internal locus of control, impatience, optimism bias, and aspirations and healthcare decisions among low-income women in El Salvador. We find positive associations between internal locus of control and preventive health behaviors during the COVID-19 pandemic (use of masks, distance, hand washing, and COVID-19 vaccination) and in general (prenatal checkups, iron-rich diets for children and hypertension tests).

This paper is particularly important in the context of a post-COVID world. The global
health crisis has highlighted the importance of population access to healthcare and the
need for individuals to take proactive measures to maintain their health and well-being.
At the same time, however, it has contributed to widening the protection gap, especially
for vulnerable groups, due to the exacerbated cost of living crisis, job losses, reduced
incomes, and rising healthcare costs, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
